BECOMING A MEMBER Choosing to become a member of Pacific Unitarian Church (PUC) means you feel that our church makes a difference in your life, giving it greater strength, depth, significance and direction. It means you feel a sense of belonging and commitment to the progressive religious values this church represents. It means a willingness to support the church with ideas, energy, time and money, so that these values can be realized in our community. We encourage everyone who is interested in exploring membership to first come to Sunday services for at least 1 - 2 months of consecutive Sundays and to attend our New Member class, facilitated by Rev. John Morehouse and various lay leaders. This class provides a chance to reflect on your individual spiritual journey, as well as learn about the history of Unitarian Universalism (U.U.), discuss U.U. beliefs, and learn more about our congregation. The emphasis is on fun, information, and getting to know other people who are new to the church. The New Member class is offered once a month on the 3rd Sunday after the second service. Child care is available. Attending the New Member class allows us to get to know you better, and gives you a chance to ask all the questions you might have. If your schedule does not permit you to attend, please contact Denise Shiozawa, Membership Director, or the PUC office to make other arrangements.
To help you to get to know us better, we offer to both
visitors and new members our Buddy Program. You
can be matched up with an established member to help you meet congregants
and become familiarized with the many programs and activities we offer.
