The PUC SOCIAL JUSTICE COMMITTEE

The PUC Social Justice Commitee is dedicated to solving local and global issues of social justice and conscience, through education, activities, and actions.

The social justice commitee maintains a core team of "individual passion leaders", each dedicated to solving a particular issue of social conscience and serving as focal point for education, activities and actions pertaining to that issue.

These issues include but are not limited to: the Environment, Nuclear Non-Proliferation, Homelessness, Hunger, One-Payer Health Care, Systemic Change, Fair Trade, Workers Rights, Campaign Finance Reform, and Peace.

In addition, the Social Justice Commitee also maintains a close alliance with the UUSC (Unitarian Universalist Service Commitee), the national voice of social conscience for Unitarian Universalists. The UUSC addresses key national and international issues, enabling the Social Justice Commitee to "plug into" activities and actions already underway.

The PUC Social Justice Committee meets every third Sunday, at 12 noon in the church library, and screens a monthly film on one of its key issues, every third Friday evening at 7 pm. Look for a monthly calender of upcoming education, activities, actions - coming soon.
