Pastoral Care
We ALL need encouragement and support from others to make it through our lives.
If you are hurting, depressed, frustrated, or confused, our Pastoral Care Team is here to support you.
The Pastoral Care Team, led by Rev. Teri Masters, our Director of Pastoral Care, includes several Lay Pastoral Associates, who are lay church members who have received special training.
Team members provide a caring presence and careful listening; offer spiritual and emotional support when you are facing life's difficult days; and can, if appropriate, refer you to other sources for help.
Any request for and all interaction with Pastoral Care Team members is completely confidential.
For additional Care and Support, we offer Grief Support Groups and our Addictions and Recovery Ministry
- Grief Support Groups are a community of people who can help you through your difficult times. Please consider attending a group if you are struggling with the loss of a loved one.
- The Addictions and Recovery Ministry offers support to those battling with an addiction, to those wanting support in their recovery, and to those who are in relationship with someone struggling with an addiction.
In addition, we offer occasional seminars, classes and workshops that you may find helpful to your journey. Some topics include:
- The Etiquette of Illness: What to Say When You Can't Find the Words
- Everyday Spiritual Practice
- Ethical-Decision Making
- Advance Directives, Do Not Resuscitate Orders, and Other End of Life Preparation
- Being with Dying
- Meditations for Healing
We hope that you will find Pacific Unitarian Church a safe place to bring your hurts and a loving place to continue your healing.
