Green Sanctuary Ministry
In support of our 7th Principle and working to restore Earth and renew Spirit, Pacific Unitarian Church is honored to be a candidate in the UUA Green Sanctuary Program. Green Sanctuary is a UUA sponsored program to move UU churches into a culture of environmental awareness. Certification includes submitting an Action Plan and tracking progress to that plan.
Our Mission:
Promote awareness and education with the PUC community for individual as well as communal choices that affect the environment- Provide a forum for discussion and dissemination of materials on awareness of environmental issues we face as a result of global warming and other destructive actions of this place we call mother earth.
- Promote a connection between spiritual practice and environmental consciousness to heal our planet.
- Join with the UUA and external groups in highlighting the issues of eco-injustice and our role to change it.
- Establish an environmental building plan for a place of peace and safety in which our children can grow and learn to protect and preserve the gifts of nature as demonstrated by the policies of conservation, recycling, and reuse within the facilities of PUC.
