ENVIRONMENT JUSTICE
Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy - Work once a month at Chandler Preserve: planting native species, weeding invasive plants, collecting seeds,
working in greenhouse.
Volunteer Days- Wilmington Community Gardens Work in collaboration with Community organizations and Conoco-Philips Refinery donated land to be worked and harvested by the Latino Community of Wilmington
- Peace-Making in a Nuclear Age Peace and Advocacy, meets once a month. Studying Thich Nhat Hanh, Creating peach, Letter-writing on a topical subject.
- Environmental Priorities Network Made up to 85 dues paying members working on environment issues. Meet monthly; Energy Fair; Speakers; Advocacy; Education; Action
SUSTAINABLE LIVING
- Recyle, Reduce, Reuse Toilets and faucets replaced. Light-bulbs replaced with fluorescent bulbs. Energy star dishwasher. Recycle batteries, cell-phones, computer printer tape, burnt out compact fluorescent light bulbs.
- Environment Audit at Home Assemble kits to teach members how to do an Environmental Audit in their homes. Will provide them with information on energy conservation and Unitarian Carbon Offset Program. An 8 panel brochure to be ready by May 2008.
- Solar Cookers for Darfur Need to research this program, to possibly bring to our Congregation as a charity we might support. Run by Jewish World Watch.
- Sell Fair-Trade Coffee on patio
- Food Choices: Was Jesus a Vegetarian, Omnivores Dilemma, Vegan cooking

Environmental Covenant Group A support group for those working on environmental issues which meets monthly

- Earth Day Garden kits for kids to take home (seeds, soil container) with Native Plant info
- Education - Experiences with the Web-of-Life Program for children
